Google’s caffeine update and then Google’s Panda update have paved the way for Google “freshness” updates. Google has announced it has run a freshness update that will weed out fresh content.
Apparently Google has determined which keywords require fresh content (known as QDF, Queries Deserves Freshness) so not all searches will be affected as heavily as others but the fact is that Google is looking for freshness, how fresh is your content? To learn more watch Whiteboard Friday from SEO Moz’s daily blog.
The lesson is that no matter the hassle it is to sit and write fresh content, the cost to have someone add it to your site, if SEO rankings are important to you, then you need to be keeping your content fresh.
